Day 3 - Training Camp
Day 3 started like the rest with this group photo in front of the shop. Almost 30 riders showed up for the 10am depart. Today's course took us on two climbs and some of the most scenic back-roads in Buffalo County. The first half of the ride was a steady double pace line as there were some heavy legs for many. As usual the pace whipped up to a frenzy at about the 30 mile mark and much fun and suffering was had by all. A group of riders who wanted to get more 'base' miles and less intensity broke off and did an extra 25 miles or so and they came back to the shop with big grins on their faces as most of us were cracking another beverage and watching Tour of Flanders re-runs...one's Fabian didn't crash in! Most of the day was shot by the time the last people headed for home and that's probably why I'm just posting this now...still whipped from a fabulous time on the bike with friends both old and new! Next season you can circle the last weekend in March once more for our Annual Spring Training Group Rides. I'm planning on making two different loops for Saturday and Sunday. One not quite as long. (Friday's ride is different and unique and suitable to all abilities so that will stay the same.) My sincere thanks to all who made it a wonderful weekend and a great start to the season for us!
